How It All Began: Meet Sarah Furtek '18

Sarah Furtek VSB'18 wanted to be an accountant for most of her college career. She came from an accountant lineage, had secured multiple accounting internships, and had a mentor who began his career in public accounting. However, through her coursework she discovered a new interest in finance. She wanted to find a way to combine her passion for accounting with her new interest in finance and sought out another alumni mentor to learn more.

Sarah leveraged the strong alumni mentor base and realized there was a greater opportunity here. As students mature, they uncover new passions and explore new interests. Students, like Sarah, can learn from the advice and perspectives of experienced alumni. And with that, Flash Mentoring was born!
